Default need clutch reccomendation for 600hp 95 z28

hey guys, i recently picked up a 1995 z28 with a full 383 stroker motor, vortech s trim turbo and alot of other stuff. when i bought it he had told me it had put down roughly 540ish at the wheels and the torque was right around there as well. ive put about 2500kms on it since and now the clutch seems to be slipping worse and worse evry time i drie it, and its gotten to the point where i cant give it 3/4 throttle. The rpms fly up as if the tires are spinning but they are not and the rpms drop again once the clutch actually grabs . Any reccomendations for a new clutch? i was looking at the SPEC stage 2+ clutch which handles 665 torque but i dont know much about clutches at all so does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I thought a Vortech S trim was a supercharger not a turbo.

LOL your right. I have an LS1 and love my Textralia clutch, don't know if they make em for LT1's. Yeah Mcloed twin disk is THE BEST however ... prepare to pay top $$$$! Don't forget to by a new slave cylinder while you are at it so you can replace it... you might as well since you're going in there.

yeah i dont think ill be able to afford the mcleod clutch which is why i liked the SPEC clutch, its a good price but ive heard they are either hit or miss basically. also i read that you have to either change out the flywheel completely or get the old one machined if a new clutch is going to be installed?

ive read the same about spec hit or miss either you get a good one or not. but i think alot of people that had problems did something wrong. as far as the flywheel get a new billet steel flywheel. machinig the stock one isnt a good idea because they tend to crack and or shatter from being thinned out. spec has the cheapest billet steel flywheel. if you do it right your lookin at about $1000. there's a new company monster clutches thats workin on a clutch for the lt1 they're gettin close but aren't done yet. they have had alot of success in the lsx world and are priced real good but it sounds lik you cant wait. your other option would be a ram or centerforce

Ram make several clutches for the LT1, and you can go to any parts store and get a flywheel from them, then return your old one.

so at this point its either between a RAM clutch and a SPEC clutch. the thing i liked about the SPEC clutches is that on the website it actually gives a torque rating for what the clutch is designed for and the RAM website doesnt have that. im not really sure what clutch im supposed to get from RAM and which one is strong enough but i found this one. is this the right one? the RAM and the SPEC are pretty close in price so which do you think is better?

you can always email ram and ask them for threre torque ratings for their clutch.

well i found a dealer that said they can sell me a mcleod street twin clutch at cost as long as i got them to install it. so i was hoping for it to be around 1000 or so at cost but he called me back and told me 1700$ for the clutch and 300$ for the installation. does anyone know how much these clutches go for new? ive been looking around on the net and i cant find a price for them. does 1700$ seem like a good price?
