Question In need of advice!!!!

Okay, so to start, I own a 97 Camaro 6cyl. bought it really cheap and it ran great for about three weeks. then the fuel pump went out.. Got that fixed, car ran great for about a week. Then it started fighting to start again, ive heard bad fuel, tune up, transmission, vacuum hoses, all sorts of stuff. Well I went to go look at it today to see if I could diagnose the issue myself. unfortunately I can not. I have had nothing but issues. Now when I started it, it cranked over like a brand new car, idles perfect like nothing is wrong, the moment it goes into gear it tries to stall out (mind you its an automatic). When I push on the gas its almost like it doesn't want to move, then all of a sudden it will kick up and go only with the pedal to the floor. I seriously can not figure out the issue. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?

moved your thread to the 4th gen general section for you. welcome. what is the temp gauge reading? pretty sure the 3.8 only has one temp sensor. a failing temp sensor can cause issues like you are seeing. bad fuel pump will also do it, plugged catylitic converter will do it, several other will also but it should show a service engine soon light. have you had it scanned for trouble codes yet. be a good idea if not. stop by local parts store and have them scan it for you. most all stores will for free in hopes of selling parts. rent a fuel pressure tester to see what the new pump is doing and if you dont have one and can afford, pick up a volt/ohm meter. come in handy with all kinds of projects.
