True. But it is tough to find one that has not been messed with in some form or fashion.

why? The 4th gens aren't collector cars.

To eliminate salad shooters and get nice wheels and new tires = $1,000

headers/ORY/cat back $800 + and you install them yourself

why not get them with the vehicle vs paying full price?

Geographical area has a lot to do with price, that's why I suggested a "road trip" in another thread. If you live in the south, a Camaro can easily be a daily driver car. Up here in cold winter country, a Camaro is a "toy", a second, third, fourth car, whatever, and it sits in storage when the snow starts to fly. With the economy in the crapper as it is, and people losing their jobs, owners tend to start selling off stuff they don't absolutely need. And the first thing the wife says goes is the extra cars. And..... toys are harder to sell, because they're impractical. And that, makes for a perfect recipe for cheaper car prices up here. It's a buyers market.

well the market passed here or isn't here in Texas anymore... I can barely find a decent running v6 for 2k, no less a v8 4th gen for around 3k

I was just in Florida at the beginning of the month, didn't see anything cheap there either...

One reason i can think of not wanting to buy a modded car is that you have no idea how much stuff is rigged up to get by until you really start tearing into it.

Depends on your price range. I put an ebay one on for $40. Then found a $300 K&N on craigslist for $100.
