this is from a guy i know on ls1 tech, weve had this discussion before

I work in parts at a gm dealer. On clusters we have to call specmo. give them the vin, mileage, part number and whatevers wrong with it. they ship us a reman unit and we send in the defect. we also have to keep the car until the work is complete so no more miles can be out on the car.go to specmo.com and see if they work with the public. i doubt it because its federal offense to change that stuff without proper documentation. if you keep the car then its no big deal. no one will know. as far as i know the tech 2 will not change mileage

Oh I am estatic, don't take me wrong with my poking and researching. The only thing I wish I did was take the time to see if I could have worked $1,000 or $1,500 off of the selling price. But as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one and the sales team saw it in my eye. Being sick with the onset of the flu and an hour from home I did not have my full car buyer game on. Plus I was afraid to leave it to chance.

I guess part of me is curious if at $260 a month vs say $385 a month on the v6 new one but I think I made the right call.

trust me you did, the new ones are more of a standard feel luxorious sports car, i like the rough tough feel of driving a 4th gen, plus you cant beat the combo of an ls1 and 6 speed, its amazing =]

Ah, the scan is small and my eyes are old. Maybe my rims are neither stock or trans am. They say "Sport edition" on them and look just like these:

Cool, I wanted American muscle and not luxury sports for my weekend ride. My everyday rider is the Korean Cadillac - 2006 v6 Sonata .
