after i get up to speed, anywhere from 45-50 in overdrive i try to accelereate slowly and the car will buck and sometimes backfire. if i accelerate a little harder it wont do that anymore. probly a dumb ? but is it still misfiring when im WOT even tho its not bucking? and could that be the reason y im losing to stock TAs?

its a 94 lt1 swap and im pretty sure the engines out ofa 94 to

 

It may be that the opti crapped out, but before chenging it, you may want to check out all other ingnition stuff, including plugs & wires, and also check the fuel pressure. Dump a couple of cans of injector cleaner into the tank.
