Default May have a little problem after intake manifold install

Its been a few days since I put the intake on the car. I have noticed while in park the car lightly revs up and down ever since the install. Any thoughts? It never used to do this.

Check your PVC hoses and valves for any leak caused when re-installing the intake manifold, make sure all connection are secure. Also be sure the IAC and throttle are clean as well. Any leaks could cause the idle to fluxuate up and down

Most likely you have a vacuum leak. It may be from one of the attachments like a hose or pcv valve, or it may be a direct cause of a bad seal when installing. If you slid the manifold at all or didn't apply enough rtv, or combination of both, a vacuum leak can occur.

It would also benefit to add a signature so people know exactly what year and engine you've got.

Yeah could be a very small leak, I dont think it would involve removing the intake again, just be sure you installed it tightly and the gasket is all sealed when you reinstalled it. If you can't pinpoint the leak their is always seafoaming, smoke will come out of even the smallest leak

RTV was mentioned as a possible cause. I agree that's a possibility, if you put RTV on the intake to head gasket surfaces, because you shouldn't have. Only use RTV to seal the end valleys.

Did you try the old ether starting fluid check? Spray a little around all hoses and connectors, gasket areas too. If rpm picks up you've found the leak.

It's best to wear a face shield when spraying highly flammable liquids on or around your running engine. It would be a shame for you to find a "leaky" spark plug wire, for instance, and singe off your nicely trimmed eyebrows!
There's a safer way to find vacuum leaks: https://camaroforums.com/forum/gener...e3/#post592310
