Default Max rear tire size?

I have a 1994 camaro (base model) that I'm bringing back from the grave. I just ordered a pair of 245-50-16's for I hope the front.....anyone know what the max size I could stuff under the rear without rubbing? I picked up a set of z28 wheels, they have the angled spoke. I believe they are 8" wide wheels.
Thanks, Joe

i have 315's on the rear of my 95 z28. im sure it could work on the v6. and the max for my front is 275's. 275's all the way around is a better bet, because you can rotate the tires. i personally cant. lol

275's wow that's wide.......surely not on 8" rims....I think you are right about keeping the sizes the same for rotation.....I won't be smoking the tires.....unless its very wet out....lol....so I might as well keep the tires the same. Tire rack said my tires should arrive Monday, hopefully they will be wide enough to please the rear too. Thanks for the reply.

275s look good on the 4th gens and will work on most of your normal 8-8.5 inch rims that came on them. I am running 315s on mine but they do stick out a little bit much and your going to need a 10 inch rim.

I went to the used tire shop to look at tire sizes. I didn't realize that the series also affects the width of the tire......a 245 50 16 is a different width than a 245 55 16. I thought the 245 determined the tire tread width......man talk about confusing.....I hope these tires dont show up all skinny...lol

The tires arrived......245 50r 16's they look great......kindof a wicked tread design.....
I bought a set of drilled slotted rotors w/brake pads on ebay.....120.00.....very nice heavy rotors made of a special metallurgy .....looks like chromed metal almost.....These new ties and the z28 wheels shouls look good with the drilled slotted rotors sitting behind there.......maybe I'll paint the calipers?????

I have 275s in the back of my 2000 v6 camaro right now and it rubs...would it have to do with the offset? i have 18inch c6 rims with 275s on them in the rear and it rubs.

Default rubbing tires

275 shouldn't rub according to Black Night.....he's running 315's on the rear. Rim offset will definately change the tire position under there. You might consider changing rims to fix that.....or.....get the ol' sawsall out....eeeeee
