Default Manual or Automatic?

Which do you prefer and why? Trying to decide which to get.

It just seems like it would be a pain driving in an area with a lot of speed bumps and stopsigns. (my neighborhood)

Manual. The connection with the car as people call it is unmatched. With an automatic, you don't know exactly when it will shift (unless modified I suppose) and it can't be trusted, lol. A lot of them are slow to shift, but have gotten better. I can slam gears pretty quick, so whatever. I was reading how a guy with a Monte Carlo SS swap had an auto for the track and a manual for the street. Why, I'm not sure, but I'm assuming launches for one thing are a hell of a lot easier on the transmission and just easier overall. But a manual is just so much fun. I couldn't imagine driving an automatic sports car daily. I have a lot of speedbumps and am in stop and go traffic daily, and it doesn't bother me.

I would prefer a manual, because I love shifting gears. However, I have an auto because that was what was available when I bought.

Plus, I am getting a little older, and the legs get stiff on longer drives, so not having to shift is pretty nice at times.
