sure.
FOR ANY ONE THAT DOES NOT KNOW.
A stock LS1 may be rated at 325HP but it has been proven on the dyno over and over again depending on year and all out side factors to produce around 285-310 wheel horse power on average.

spartan..... you have been here how long? are you really saying this is the first time you have heard this? the dyno discrepancy is mostly just due to the instrument. remember this: No 2 dynos are the same, and a 10% difference between different dynos really isnt a big deal at all.

there is really very very little between the options. you SHOULD know by now the SS and ws6 packages are 95% cosmetic. you really think a fancy hood and wing will add 20hp? go buy a civic

my TA vs my buddys ws6 was neck and neck from any in-gear roll back when we were both stock. a dead heat.

the ls1 stock 1/4 mile record is held by a Z, not an SS. the guy who made the record passes also drove an SS at the same track and got very close, but didnt beat the times.

no, thats not what im saying.. I guess im just not familiar with the LS1s power. At what point did an LS1 make 285hp which was the same as the LT1? Why would they do that?

Read closer: 285 RWHP, assuming 15% drivetrain loss that calculates to 327 crank HP. On the upper end with 356 crank HP.

That said, do you believe that every single LS1 that leaves the factory is going to be exactly 305 crank HP? As Spec said, most of the difference is between the dynos, the other part of the difference is from variations in the motors. I would be willing to be there's a 5-10 HP difference from the reported numbers for any given motor.
