as do track prep, track design, and track specifics. not long ago someone posted a video of his bolton only mustang GT running deep 12s or something. but from the angle of the camera it was obvious that the track ran downhill like a sonofab****. Not hard to shave a second off your time when you're cruisin down the side of a mountain

Or if it's the drag strip closest to me, racing on the side of an overly tall mountain...

you also have a stall, lol. no offense or anything.. just saying, stalls on autos can make a pretty nice difference.

Basically, to answer the original question.. What does it take to beat an LS1 with an LT1?
The answer is, an act of God. Which is most likely not covered by your warranty or insurance..

Jk guys, I agree with everyone that says the LT1 is a great engine, because it is.. It definately does have potential, its just a matter of stock for stock, the LS1 is faster. I've seen "fast" LT1's and "slow" LS1's. It really depends on all kinds of factors, like spec and whammer already said..

all I was saying is that track times arent that meaninful....

the 04 mustang GT is considered a 14 flat car, but mid 14s arent out of the question in the track sucks. a 13.9 isnt unheard of either. the lt1 is also 14 flat, but a little faster than the mustang. but low 14s are usually expected, with a dip into the 13s being considered "good". while 13 flat is what is quoted for ls1s, mids are more likely. we get into trouble when we look at people getting in the lower spectrum for one car and the higher for another....

like that firebird board that i cant post at anymore , 13.8 for the ls1, 14.0 for the lt1 and that was that.
the world doesnt contain enough -faces to express my feelings about that board.

Wow! I forgot about that. :P

Do you remember what site that was? If you're blocked I'd be willing to go in and see how they're doing. You know, find out where they stand on the lt1/ls1 issue. :P
