very true...a guy i know put a lsx in his 97 firebird and over built the bottom end.He would haul butt down the track but then fall on its face. And the stock bottom ends are built pretty well and can handle decent power. To the OP:just because you have that many miles doesnt make it a bad thing.I wouldnt rebuild unless you were burning oil or had loss of compression. Why waste money right ?

Default new camaro-please help me!

i have just purchased a 95 camaro Z28 with a LT1 but 158k miles are on it. its a father son owned car with no problems at all. i am currently deployed and will return next year so im trying to get ideas on what i can do to have it ready for me when i return. there are no mods added on at all yet. i was considering an engine rebuild but i dont know how much that would be, or wha to add on. please help me with ideas! what would you do!?

Sterex77: Go check out the "Where to start Modding" sticky at the top of the 4th Gen section, it will give you some ideas on what you're looking at for beginning mods, you'll need to get your bolt-ons out of the way before you even want to think about doing anything internal to the engine.

i found a LS1 for around 2 grand used with 40k. would it be worthwhile swapping out with the old LT1?
