Default Low Oil Light?

The last couple of days I get an occasional Low Oil warning lamp on the IP. I check the oil and its full and clean, its not overdue or anything. I've noticed that if I shut the car off for a sec, and restart, the light will usually go out. What's going on here? Do I have an oil pump problem?

oil level sensor is on the driver side of the oil pan sticking out of the side. oh and have it scanned for trouble codes for your other issue. should be able to get the codes pulled at a local parts store. save time and gas, call around and ask if they can do it beforehand.

Thanks. Autozone does it free. I didnt know it would give a code without a check engine light.

The oil level light is an independent circuit, is not monitored by the PCM & sets no code. As others said the sensor or wiring may be bad, most likely the sensor.
