Looking for Hood Struts for new fiberglass hood
Just put a new trufiber fiberglass hood on my 96 camaro and now my stock hood struts are too strong. Who makes a weaker hood strut more suited to a fiberglass hood? I DO NOT want to go with a prop rod.... anyone else been down this road?

your best bet is to (and i know this sounds funny but ive seen people do it before) bring a scale to the parts store and test all the shocks that are the same length and grab the weakest ones obviously check your stock ones first... you new hood will probably weigh in the 15lb range and the steel one is maybe 30 lbs (i dont know for sure but ive picked up both and the fiber glass is like a feather compared to the steel)

my parts store just said they had stock replacements.... do most other car brands hood struts mount the same way as the camaro's?
