Default lookin for some info on prob

i recently purchased a 1996 RS camaro automatic that needs work but being that its a camaro i obviously have acclerated quickly at green lights etc. I notice when i step on the gas to hard n quickly (pedal to the medal) the engine seems to stall/rev put around when i reach 40ish miles per hour, i wonder whats the cause of it, is it the transmission? do i need a new one? or is it something else? it runs fine when i drive normal by the way. Any clear information is welcome.

If all is well when you're driving normally I woudln't think it would be the tranny. Sounds like it could be an issue with the higher RPM. You may want to do a general tune up (Plugs, wires, fuel filter, change fluids etc.) and check your fuel pump to make sure it's operating correctly.

Does it hit the rev limiter? See if this helps...
