well, stock ur not at 260rwhp to being with.....I think he may have had it. he is also leaned way out, so he could have made over 300rwhp with tuning. the hotcam is actually not a bad cam. but you would still be better off buying it in peices and getting all the parts u want

do u even have boltons yet? worry about those first

I've looked at doing a lot of head/cam work to my car. What I've found is the LT4 conversion with the hotcam will net some HP, but you can make better numbers for almost $2500 bucks if you shop around and get good aftermarket parts from other manufactures. The price of the heads is really what kills you, you can get a much better flowing head than a stock LT4 head for that price. If you want a good budget build, go for the LT4 hotcam kit and find a place that ports the stock LT1 heads. That way you don't have to worry about buying the expensive LT4 intake manifold and you have heads that flow better than the LT4 heads. Check out http://www.totalengineairflow.com/ and what they can do with a stock LT1 head that you send to them. Pretty impressive numbers if you ask me, especially for the price.

Ok thanks guys. Im not sure if i want to do the LT4 or if i want to just build another LT1 with aftermarket parts.. but yes i have to do bolt ons first im getting a CAI when i get my tax return. the only reason i ask is because i have a list and im constantly changing it and was looking for more info. and 98SS next week i will start a job that will net me roughly a grand a month..

Yes, you have to send them the cores, but the numbers they get out of your heads are utterly amazing.

Spartan.. buy a "new" LT1 for the camaro, and take the old LT1 out, and build that, so you can also clean it up at same time, AND know the "new" one in car is good. also, when you put the LT4 in, the block will still be matching numbers, for if you sell.
