Default Just got a 95'

Hey guys I'm brand new to the forums. Just got word that I'll be getting a 95' Z28 tomorrow. It's a one owner, 30k miles car, only thing wrong with it is a little hail damage on the hood. Other than that its in perfect condition. It's been stored inside all of it's life and the owner started it up and drove it around the block occasionally. I previously owned an 85' Z28 and was apart of the third generation forums. Really looking forward to getting it home. I'm paying $3000 for the car (seems like an amazing deal to me seeing as I payed that for my 85' with a little less than 100k miles. It's going to be my daily driver. Just wanted to say Hi and I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions later on!

Chris

Hi and welcome to the glorious 4th gen. side of life. I think you'll be much happier then with your third gen.

That's a really really sweet deal, I'm super jelly. Ditch that stock hook and get a nice fiber glass hood whatever style you like. SS or maybe a cowl induction, check out 6LE designs they make cool stuff for our cars.

That really is a good deal, with such low miles! "It's been stored inside all of it's life", I guess except for the one time it got caught in a hail storm? Congrats, sounds like a nice one.

Seems odd that a car with really low mileage would be sold for so little. Are you getting an inside deal?

Thanks for all the replies! Yes I really am looking forward to the 4th gen way more than I ever did to my 3rd gen. The hail damage isnt major, I think I can take it somewhere and get PDR on it and make it look like new again. Although I would rather have an SS hood Haha you would think with 30k miles the owner would have checked the weather before driving it through hail, but hey for $3k I can't complain! And about the low price, my dad used to buy motorcycles from this guy a few years back and told him if he ever wanted to sell that car to call him and out of the blue yesterday he called! So it's not some random guy on craigslist if that's what you were thinking. Should have it home today!

I've had a couple of my cars get caught in a hail storm, leaving golf ball sized dents. PDR did wonders, you couldn't tell the dimples were ever there.

Yeah, you only have to deal with unbearable humidity, and sun-faded paint!

Well got the car today, and it is AMAZING. It was an absolute steal for $3k. Drives like its brand new, interior is in PERFECT condition, the paint is amazing. No door dings, not a scratch on the car. BUT the hood is pretty heavily damaged. It isn't to the point that it is unrepairable though. I'm going to try to find a replacement hood (hopefully already the same color) that someone pulled off their 93-96. Anyone know the best place to look for a hood like i am describing? I tried to post an add to the classifieds on the forum here but I don't think I have enough posts to do that yet. Anyone know how many times i need to post before I can post a wanted add? Overall im really excited over the purchase!

3 is the magic number, you just made it. Still, I'd get a price from a Dentbusters place first, before going through the hassle of replacing the hood. Since your car is as amazing as you make it sound, most any used hood in your color isn't as likely to look as good as yours does, minus the dimples. And if you have to get a replacement hood repainted, getting paintless dent repair on yours may be even more of a no-brainer.
