NEVER jack from the harmonic damper, that's not good for the crankshaft. Throw a 2x4 or 2x6 scrap piece of wood on top of the jack to spread the load, and span it across the oil pan to lift the engine.

I like to stand a 2X4 or 2x2 up and reach up into the motor mount/head area. Pan is a bad idea cause it could cause a leak now by over compressing a dry gasket/seal or if you ever have to reseal it a small twist from stress means it will never seal again. Like Camaro 69 said Vibration damper is a huge no no. The car has no oil pressure while it is not running you could damage the front main bearing and wipe out the whole motor.

Never, never, never *ever* lift the motor by pushing up on the harmonic balancer.

Oil pan isn't ideal but will probably be okay *if* you place a 6"x6" board under the pan where you will be placing the jack, stand, or whatever.

V6 or V8?
When you say that you got the poly mounts are you talking about the ones that you install in your existing mount shell? If so, where are you getting them? Be sure to report on how they work for you because I'm thinking of going that route.

o man thank goodness i didnt listen to that bum who said jack from the balancer. i got a v8 1augapfel.

are there any other options other than from the oil pan?, cuz i dont think that pan was ever dropped.

the lift is a garage lift, 4 arms go under the car and lifts it bout 6ft in the air. im anxious to feel how that baby is gunna run after... i just did 1000 miles since getting it, its been a year already :/

instead of a 6x6 wood, how about a phone book? if its paper it would take some of the stress?

I had to sand away some of the material around the bolt holes holding it into the crossmember because it stuck out to far and was preventing me from getting the bolts in there with them sitting on the crossmember. Just something to look at before you get them in there and you have to pull them out.
