Default I'm in a 'sticky situation'

So I painted the back bumper(under the hatch) black (pics tomorrow) And I covered everything etc. BUT I made the stupid mistake of not using masking tape(You can see where this is going)
I used some kind of tannish carpenter tape and, me being gullible, put some on the car.. When I finished it all up and peeled everything off it left tape residue on the car and I used rubbing alchohol, tooth paste(idk internet) and dawn and that stuff just wont come off my factory paint What is a good dis-solvent that can get it off easily without ruining the paint?

Alcohol or a buffing compound is what would use. Or maybe even a polish.

Goof Off. I use it all the time to help remove bug and tar and those pesky stickers dealers put on.

Goo gone. Get it from a hardware store or grocery store.

WD-40 works well. And believe it or not, creamy peanut butter will also remove many tape residues. I think it has something to do with the oil in the peanut butter.

Easier still if you smear peanut butter on the goo, then let your dog clean it off. Sit back and have a beer while Fido does all the work!
