Default I searched 1st (Parking Brake Issue)

I have a 95 z28 and my parking brake does not work at all. I just bought the car today and it needs a little love. In any event I searched all around and even tried to follow these directions here http://shbox.com/1/adjparkingbrake.jpg. It does not work at all and I drive a manual so I would prefer to have it working instead of leaving my car in gear. This is my first camaro, I usually built honda/acuras and adjusting the brake was very simple and straight foreward. I am somewhat mechanically sound I just know nothing on these cars. Any help appreciated

does the lever move freely? are all the cables intact. if you are looking at the rear brakes and pull the e-brake lever, does the lever on the caliper move? I would check to make sure that the cables are working correctly and if so it could be the calipers that need repairing/ replacing.

There usuallyare no adjustments needed, so make sure the cable is not rusted in place, and do as the nuttyprofessor said, see if the parking brake lever moves at the caliper.

I will check and see. I think the cables are rusted or gone cause te parking brake moves to freely. Does anyone have a link or site on how to replace the cables if thats the issue.

sounds like you have a broken cable. Trace the e-brake line back from the caliper to see where the cable is broken and you'll know which section/ side needs to be replaced. As far as I can remember, replacing the cables is not extremely difficult and if you are mechanically inclined you should have no problem.

Also the e brake cables only run to the back calipers or do they run to the front as well?

I got a chance to check things out today and there is no cable there at all. Even on the e brake handle itself, I see where the cable should be and its not there.
