Default I pulled battery cable to clear code, oil monitor ?

My car service engine soon light came on. Went up to auto zone, small leak evap. Bought a new gas cap,the old gasket shot,I just swapped gaskets and kept old cap with the retainer. To clear light I pulled the battery cable, all good it's off,but now did I mess up my oil service monitor? I reset it at last oil change ,I'm at 4000 miles on it should be getting close but now I'm worried I reset that also,I wanted to see how far I got ,my cobalt usually went 8,000 miles before a change.

did you hold the +&- cables together to do a full reset? i would think it would retain that info if not.

No,I removed the neg cable only . Holding them together I never heard of that,I guess it would drain it completely? There must be battery for backup somewhere to hold that info.

The SRS (airbags) computer has large storage capacitors that allow the 12v power to remain on for up to 10 seconds in the event of battery circuit failure during a collision. That affects all modules. But a wait of 30 seconds or more should be adequate to clear the codes. Shorting the battery cables together will speed up that discharge process for the other modules except the SRS.
