Default I keep finding different answers to my exhaust questions.

I have been lookin into getting a new exhaust for awhile, but it wasnt a big priority until during the fall both my cats have casing cracks and it rattles somethin nasty. So Im gonna just replace my Y pipe and my catback at once and I plan on putting on headers but that wont be for another couple months. I plan on getting pacesetter LTs, I want to keep cats tho so can I get an ORY and buy small cats or should i just get a catted y-pipe which are pretty expensive it seems. How do I know if the y pipe will fit with LTs, as I have read u need a short y-pipe to go with LTs? I never find it in descriptions on sites to buy them. Also Im assuming whatever y-pipe I get will be fine to got with an SLP LMII catback? Lastly will my ses light and engine need a tune if get headers installed? I will be having a shop do the install so minor fab and modifications should be fine.

get the Y pipe that match the headers you want. and buy cats to put on not a catted y. the lmII will work wit LTs and its not a must but some ppl tune after headers and exhaust

If you get pacesetter's then just get the PaceSetter Ypipe. What ever ypipe you get ... the muffler shop shouldn't have a problem mating whatever catback you want to hook up to it. And you will definately want to get a tune because other wise you won't be maximizing the power of the headers. And yes you will probably get some issues with the lights because of the 02 sensors. so another reason to tune. they have "bullet" style cats too which may be another option. I don't have cats

Your best bet might be to get 1 cat and hook it up right where the ypipe connects then the other end of the cat is where you can put the catback system. but cats on a car with LT's maybe better described by others on here who have that set up. I have LT's with an Xpipe.....simple .....cheap....loud....more power! Done!

Yeah I know I can send it in....my car has been stored for the winter and everyday i lose with it I will be very sad but that is lookin like my best option after i get headers. now correct me if im mistaken, there are two cats and sensors before and after the cat? does the hi flow cat need a sensor to it as well? my 3000gt had some very complicated issues when i took the cat off and im trying to avoid issues now with my 'maro so call me paranoid.

you have a sensor before to adjust the fual mixture etc, check how the emgine is running. the one after the cat is to see if the cats are working correctly. You might get away without throwing a code and not need a tune if you run high flow cats. If it does throw one you can either (1) get it tuned out and tune your car to get max power for mods, (2) send it to pcm for less for a rear O2 delete or (3) get some O2 simulators that plug in the rear instead of O2 sensors so that it tells the ecu everything is OK.

If you havent done your mods before me ill let you know how mine goes, i have some long tubes on the way and am making a custom true dual system, but ill prob buy efilive to tune out the rear O2s

Alright cool sounds good to me, what is the efilive I looked that stuff up but man I'm lost when it comes to that stuff. I prolly should just have someone else tune my car.
