I shall. the plugs suck to change on this engine... Pain to get to the rear ones on the passenger side.

ha... what do you know.... found a cracked spark wire. that sucks... I put new ones on no more than about 8 months ago. oh well.... Thanks for the help guys.

most plug wire sets have a warranty. You may not have to pay for new ones.

Was the wire too close to, or touching the exhaust manifold perhaps? That'll cook/split/crack/toast/trash a wire in no time.
Did I happen to mention extreme heat isn't good for wires?

ha... none of them are resting on the exhuast manifold, but the one was sitting on a metal flange close to the manifold. They are bosche wires i believe. I neet to invest in some nicer ones. these are by no means fancy ones. but i guess they get the job done (8 months at a time).

Is the flange connected to the manifold, or just "close". If it was close, it shouldn't have gotten hot enough to cook the wire then. Is that flange positioned upright where the wire could have been cutting into it?

its not attached which leads me to believe there was little thermal transfer, and it is a rounded surface... it almost appears that it began to short and melted the coating. not sure tho.

it may be it got wet and as it sparked/missfired it burned the wire.
