There are very limited choices in this size. IMO no Camaro has done well in the wet. I have owned every generation for Camaro and if I had to guess I would say the 3rd gen was the best at wet roads the 4th and 2nd are tied for last place.
I drive my 96 hard. I do not do the jack rabbit starts but I rarely touch the brakes for corners and I tend to be going over the speed limit as I “merge” into traffic from a on ramp. That is until it is wet out. I slow down a lot. I have had the same thing happen to me at 50 MPH in 4th gear. I went to accelerate and she fish tailed on me. It could be that V8 posi rear helps a little. If I knew for sure the posi rear would help that would be my next upgrade.
I also agree with Camaro 69. On a hot day after a dry spell a little rain will draw the oil out of the black top and cause a already bad situation a lot worse.

What they were probably saying is those were the only ones they had on the shelf that they could sell you, otherwise you'd be out the door to go somewhere else.

i have kumho ectsa ast 225/45R18s on my car (all season tire) WAYYYYYYYY better that the goodyears i had on the stock rims its kinda hard to spin them in the dry but from a dead start spinning them in the rain is not hard at all and the second gear chirp is more of a spin now no matter dry or wet and they were only 125$ a tire installed

Geez, I kinda feel bad now after reading all of this. My son has told me several times he is fishtailing going up an off ramp from the interstate when it is raining. Of course, ole dad just thought he was playing around trying to spin the rear tires. He has some type of Firestone tire, can't remember what exactly it is but the tread is almost new.

ya even the V6 fishtails in the rain Ive completely spun out in intersections b4 try driving the 5 speed in the snow with crappy *** almost bald tires fun as hell tho never did put her in the ditch

if you have a open rearend then that would explain why your spinning. all the v8 model 4th gens have posi rear end so gotta break both tires lose. im usin 245/45/17s all the way around and seem to work alright. lookin at switching the backs to 295s or 315s. kinda nervous about wot passes when its wet though and i dont dive the car in the snow or ice unless it happens when im away from home then its a long drive. lol.
