After taking care of the above I was wondering what upgrades I should do to get the best bang for my buck, I can probably spend $1500 now without hearing too much complaining from the fiance haha. Also I am not too mechanically inclined so keep in mind I can't do a lot of the work myself(paying uncle to do it/teach me). Any input would be appreciated!

Slow is a relative term. When compared with my bike, only supercars (and drag cars) can be called fast.

Do you know the rear gear ratio? Good ole 2.73:1 won't give you much kick in the pants

funny my #s say 2.73 it feels more like 3.23 my z allways kicked but for stock car an now I got to be carful until I build the 10 bolt to handle 450tlbs + ,that's another fairly inexspensive upgrade an there is a thread hear strengthening the 10 bolt, stock they can handle up to 350hp but with upgrade for around $500.00 says including labor ,3.23 3,42 may be a great choise 3,73 4.10 higher you go the gas milage goes down an is harder on the car over all I am thinking 3.23 to 3,42 max ,check it out in drivetrain section that ones on my bucket list ,couse why spend $2000.00 + for moser or ford unless your going with over way over 500hp for about 350.00 do it yourself a get it to handle 450hp + an takes about as much as 500hp or just get a quicker light car ,my 99 3800 has 3.23 gears,i would not go with more exspencive rear unless raceing ,actually it talks about guys getting high 10s an 11s with a beafed up ls1,an yes a bike will allways beat you at a light unless you got 7 second car then you can run them or outrun them,so with that budget gears an headers good cat back ,tune up goes along way ,the cars were made for 100.000 miles tune up ,but when I get a car with over 50.000 plugs wires opti spark ,but wait till water pump goes if you can ,some people never give there car a tune up so when you buy a used car its a crap shoot ..hopeing you got a good one
