Default How should i upgrade?

Ended up buying a 1993 camaro z28, it does have an oil leak that I'm planning on tracking down this weekend as well as changing plugs and wires and radiator flush.

Right now, my 0-60 is pretty damn slow, the car is pretty much stock, but I know the car should be faster. When I stomp on gas I do a pretty nice burnout but after that it just seems sluggish.

After taking care of the above I was wondering what upgrades I should do to get the best bang for my buck, I can probably spend $1500 now without hearing too much complaining from the fiance haha. Also I am not too mechanically inclined so keep in mind I can't do a lot of the work myself(paying uncle to do it/teach me). Any input would be appreciated!

many things can cause loss of power. best to see if the computer can tell you where to look. good start with a lt1 4th gen is cold air intake and good cat back exhaust. to flash for codes in a 93 look at 23 here 4th Gen LT1 F-Body Tech Aids shbox is good...

A agree with Craby, I would add new O2 sensors to the Plug/wire project. I am talking about the 2 primary O2's in the manifolds.

i have found that ngk work best in the lt1. i use tr55ix iridium's. once you have changed plugs on these you wont want to do it again for a long time.

Well I just ordered msd ignition wires and the tr55ix plugs you spoke of, I'm interested in getting pacesetter headers, how difficult would it be to install? And while that is being installed should I go ahead and get the Y-pipe as well?

the right headers should go right in ,? what the miles ,I drove mine for 5 years before my engine went ,I say this couse you talk about burnouts ,I probley only did it 5 or 6 times ,then reving the engine also accounted for my engine manifold gasket going was slow though took a year there tough , but you don't know who else worked it over ,they talk about them being bullet proof an if was not for seal probley could have done a lot more ,just a friendly reminder ,headers will give you an feel like more hp,stay away from cold air intake adds like 1hp ,unless its not a lot of money K&N filter will help a bit

hardest part with the headers is getting the car far enough up in the air to get them in. easiest to slide them in angled up as much as possible. pacsetters are a good choice, they are the best economical wise header for 4th gens. if you can afford have them ceramic coated. yes you need the y pipe to hook into the current exhaust.
