Hello,
I am currently looking into purchasing a 2002 Camaro Z28. The car is in decent condition(silver) and has about 45000 miles on it. I really like the car but am not too familiar with Camaros and really don't want to pay more than I should. So, my question is how much would you pay for this car? Also, is there anything that you would advise before purchasing?
Thanks for all of your help.

Value of a car is depending on a lot of things not just the car.
In order of importance:
Location (value can vary state to state. Large states like here in PA you can have a pretty big variation across the state itself)
Clean title? (how many owners?)
Has the car ever been wrecked?
How has the car been maintained?
Are you getting any type of warranty?
Color?
Time of year. (we are coming into the time of year when Camaro’s are at their highest value
I use KBB.com as a starting point. You can also use ebay but make sure you look at auction that sold and assume those cars where not perfect. If you do not know a lot about cars you should take it to someone that does. Its pretty easy to hide major issues from someone that really wants the car. But to hide something from someone that knows the cars and is not excited about a new purchase is a tuff one.
You can also watch craigs list and other adds and note the prices and how long the cars stay up for sale. That will take some time to get the feel for your area. I check craigs list once a week. I can tell right way if a car is priced to sell or I am going to be looking at that add for awhile.

Also, you can pick up a copy of something like "wheels and deals" at the local convience store and see what others in your area are pricing as well as the ad's in the classifieds of your local newspapers.
