Sorry I meant it is a deciding factor on whether or not I get a Z28. I have to drive 6 miles round trip to work 5 days a week. I would also be driving it a lot outside of work. The LT1 is rated at 15 city and that's if your driving like a granny with AC off and everything. I'm now thinking about getting a miata and boosting it mainly because I'm not sure if I want to drop that kind of money on gas.

boosted miatas are fun. me and my buddy built one, were running 20lbs of boost out of a td06-16g on a stock mercury mystique turbo engine (same engine as the early 90s 1.6L miata engine)

after we sell this one the next one is going to be either LS powered or a ford 5.0 (only because we can get the 5.0 a dime a dozen)

I drive mine roughly 30 miles a day for 5 days with work, and whatever else i go between. So its in the upper $200+ a month mark. Probably closer to 300 (I personally think it sucks on fuel mileage as a daily).

If your so worried with fuel cost, then i would stop thinking about v8 cars and get a s10 or 4 beater car.. I hate to put it blunt, but your not going to get good fuel mileage out of older v8s.

3.8 camaro will get 20 to 30 mpg depending on if highway or city. 220hp 6 is very respectable and is a good one to learn on.

I dunno, an LS engine in a featherweight car would get better gas mileage than a V6 Camaro would.
The hard part would be leaving your lead lined right shoe at home!
Probably not within this guys budget though.

When I had a job i paid $250 easy in one month driving a ford taurus back and forth with near 29 + miles per gallon 40+ miles per day. Just to make 1400 gross. not net. Netted roughly 750-900 a month for child support, insurance, gas, camaro, lol. I was a painter at Titan wheel working with sub human level morani. whom hated new people's good work. Compared to crap work all the while its supposed to make me appear as I think I'm too good. lol Crap on the USERY of the workforce development wich they feed off the GOV. and cycle and recycle the same new hire ees. Thats what happens the closer you get to chicago people. COMPOST.

Hmm...last time I did the math, I was doing around 17.3 or something and I don't drive like a granny and drive about 8 miles to work, all city, 5 days a week.

mines about 16.4 so I would accept the 15 mpg label considering its an older car with unknown maintenance.

P.S: I'm no granny either oh i see, now i found my fuel mileage problem
