How many speakers does my Bose system have? and how to change fronts?
So there are definitely *five* speakers in the Bose system? My 94 was built with the system but had a 1500W aftemarket system when I bought the car. The sub was disconnected and the rear seat speakers were Pioneer brand with dedicated wiring. I haven't been able to find the factory wires going to those rear seat speakers and thought that maybe the Bose system didn't have speakers there. There's a 94 in the U-Pull-It with the Bose system and I already pulled the sub as a spare. Better go back again for more!
I just replaced all four (didnt do the sub) of my factory Bose speakers with some 6-3/4" Fosgate's, sounds awesome to me. Anyway I have a good door speaker I will give you... You just pay the shipping and its yours. PM me if you want it.
I stumbled into a bit more onfo on this Bose system this morning.
Apparently the Bose system had only 3 speakers for the 1993 and 1994 model years. Starting for the 1995 model year, another 2 were added at the rear seat location.
I guess that explains why I can't find the wiring to rear seat speakers on my 1994. Now I'll be looking for a wrecked 95 so I can get the whole audio system harness.
This is where I read about the changes from year-to-year:
