either one. both can be catted. on the early single cat models you can set it up with stock cat and exhaust. at least the kooks i have would have hooked right up to my 93 stock exhaust at the cat.

ive looked at the site, still a little unclear of the hook up on the cat back..
my main mission is to use the existing exhaust manifold, replace cats, or if these kits offer some sort of hollowed out cat where my o2s can still screw into, and not throw codes, and then connect a cat back system where it would bolt on as factory as far as length goes with everything, so i wouldnt have to cut and weld

I looked at the slp loudmouth and seems to be in my price range however i see loudmouth 1, and 2, anyone know the difference or heard them in person? maybe someone has a used system willing to sell?

You have two cats, one on each manifold. Your Y-pipe comes after the cats. All a catback consists of is the intermediate pipe (pipe from the merge of the y-pipe to the muffler), the muffler and tailpipes. They are very simple; your cats and y-pipe all remain untouched.

If you are looking to replace your cats but are staying with stock manifolds, you can only go with OEM cats.

If you go with Longtubes, the cats are located in the y pipe. The y-pipe is proprietary, meaning your stock y-pipe cannot be used with longtubes.

Also, you have four 02 sensors. There is one 02 sensor on each exhaust manifold before the cats. Then there is one 02 sensor after each cat. The rear 02's only check to make sure the cat is functioning correctly. If you go with longtubes, 02 bungs are already setup in the collectors of the headers and in the y pipe.

I own the loudmouth 2 and it is mated to BBK longtubes and a BBK ory. The loudmouth 1 is an empty resonator and has no packing. The loudmouth 2 is a bullet muffler, meaning it has some packing around it. On a stock manifold and catted car, both sound good with the LM2 being quieter, less raspy and deeper. When you go to longtubes and an ory the LM1 becomes a raspy, droning nightmare. The LM2 gives still gives some livability.
