I've looked on craigslist too and found a lot of cheap cars.. It makes me wonder if something is wrong with them with some of the prices comared to the ones around here. But i was looking in Houston and houstin is a MUCH bigger city than where i live, i guess that could affect it some.

Ban go start your ****(i.e. personal attacks)somewhere else and not in my thread, thank you, I'm trying to get honest answers. But I will comment.Everyone has their opinion I guess, not saying it's right or wrong. You owe driving your WS6 to people like us who drive the V6's. The Camaro and Firebird would have died long ago without the V6 sales. And lack horsepower? That is a very relative term. If I was used to driving 500+hp cars all day I guess I could say your little WS6 is lacking horsepower and why would you buy a car with only 300hp. Buy a Z06 or Viper with some real power, not that weak LS1 crap. Now I don't mean that, but you see that if I was some rich fartable to driveA Vette or Viper I could say the same to you. The V6 dosen't lack any power, it's just the V8Camaros have more power.Anyway, who cares what motor you have, most of us love Camaros and Firebirds reguardless. Most of the guys who drive V6's are teens to early 20's. How the hell do you expect a kid in high school or college to be ableafford a $15k or even $10k car and the insurance on it? It's possible, but not for very many of us. Like I said, you have your opinion, but you know what they say about those!

Well stated. And you are right about why people get V6's, I got a V6 because I'm a new driver. Craigslist is a good resource for cars, I got my Camaro from there.

Hey Redneck why don't you go **** yourself. I wasn't debating the marketing and business practices of GM. The point I was trying to make is that I can't understand why someone would buy a sports car that lacked horsepower, I was stating my opinion. So, sincerely signed, eat **** and die.
You have been here how long, 2 months? Yet you cant get along with members we know & are nice people. You are the one starting all the bull****. Who cares what they put in what cars? If your not driving one why does it make a difference to you? I have seen a varity of your post and it seems to me half of it is either BS or you argueing over somone about BS. You are the type of person that gives Camaros & T/As bad names not the V6s...

Alright lets just leave it alone. BanWS6 please refrain form using so many cuss words in your posts, if you can't articulate your opinion without them then just don't post. Consider this a warning.

Now I know that the V6 Camaros lose their value a lot quicker than an LS1 Camaro, but man all the SS's and Z28'sI find aroud here are way over priced. I've found the 00-02 SS's with under 50,000 miles usualy book for around $15k-$17k, but not talking about really, really low mile cars. I've found a couple in that range, but most are being sold for $20k+. Right now there are a couple in my area, one has 98,000 miles and they want $23k, it does have full bolt-ons. A couple more around the 50k mile mark and they want $20kand $22k, they are stock. Can I really talk them down $5k-$7k to around book price? There is an 02, the anniversary edition, with 10k miles for $34,000.

My car, 99' 3.8, books for $6,100. Granted the paint isn'tperfect but it's not bad,it runs good and everything else is in good shape, so I asked $5,600.I've had quite a few people come look at it and no one wanted to pay more than $5,000 for it. I see 80's Iroc's in worse shape than minegoing for $6-$7k. Is it because they are such common cars compared to an Iroc?

I know the LS1 cars, especially the SS, are harder to find than the 3.8 car, but other than the engine and the exterior peices on the SS they are basically the same car. Does the LS1 really give the car the ability to charge that much over the book price? Or is the market just really messed up here?
I know where you're coming from. I live on Long Island and most all the dealerships here have f-bodys wayyy overpriced. About a month ago this one dealership had a ws6 going for $23,000. Like someone else suggested, check out cars.com, autotrader, and the newspaper because you can find ls1 fbodys with 50k miles for around $11,000, sometimes less, sometimes more. I've seen a 98-02 z28 with 60-70k miles go for as low at $8k. I was ready to jump all over it, except it was too far to drive. I'm hoping to get myself an ls1 by next summer, i'm saving now (currently have 99 v6 camaro). I'm assuming that you're looking to buy an ls1 based on your post, so good luck, something always turns up, especially on cars.com. Just gotta be patient.

Pretty much everyone above summed it up rather nicely. Personally,I wouldn't evengive somebody 3000 for a V6 Camaro, I'm a strong believer in keeping muscle in the American Pony Car. When they stick these little V6's in them it just goes against the very reason the Camaro/Trans Am was created.
I have a 99 camaro v6 in absolute mint condition. The guy i bought it from had it for 2 years and drove a little over 2,000 miles, just to the train station and home. I couldn't imagine giving the car up for 3 grand, especially when it's immaculate. But i understand what your saying, believe me, if i could afford a ws6 or a z28/ss i would buy one immediately. But look at it this way, if you were in my position, would u rather have a mint v6 camaro or a v6 honda civic? The camaro looks much nicer than most other v6 cars and i get compliments on it all the time. You're not gonna hear people say, hey man, nice toyota corolla.
