Default how check Engine Coolant Level Module monitor

My Camaro 1997 Z28 LT1 Engine Coolant Level Module monitor indicates low level in radiator but it's full. I have removed the part and want to check it for error.

I have used a ohm-meter and just read out about 7 Mille ohm with the part in or out of a glass of water. I think it would be more ohm in water to give a accurate signal - or how do I check the Engine Coolant Level Module monitor? Can't find any information on internet.

Hmm, shbox doesn't show any way of testing and I don't have my manual within reach to see if it says anything.

You can just leave it unplugged. This would shut off the light or just replace it.

I don't have access to a 1997 service manual, but the 1996 shouldn't be much different. Voltage is applied to the light when the ignition is in the run or start position and also during the bulb test of the instrument panel. The path to ground comes from either the sensor or BCM.

I've attached a pdf of pages from the 1996 manual showing a troubleshooting chart and explanations of how the circuit operates. Follow the chart and you should be able to eliminate what the problem is.

Thank you for kind help! Regarding to the service manual I should get contact and full ohm then dry. However, I cleaned the coolant sensor and installed and it works. Seems like dirt had clogged the sonsor.

You can't really check that sensor module with an Ohmmeter. It is an active device that generates pulses in operation. You would need a voltmeter or oscilloscope to test it. You can safely assume it is defective as these go bad all the time due to coolant seeping inside the sensor.
