horrible mileage
#23
went to my local autozone and asked a couple of the guys what they think the problem is.. funny thing, they said that they have also been getting bad mileage lately and they suspect its the gas we are getting here. they actual words were dont change anything on the car its the gas. so now im at a stand still...

prehaps check the airfliter since the car dosen't get enought air in the engine it might take more gas to make the explosion happen check the air intake aspect of the car then you can play with other stuff.

yep a plugged air filter or catalytic converter can skew your mpg, after checking these i would look at the fuel pressure, 02 sensors and the injectors to start with. im getting 20 mpg.

okay i will check the air filter, how would i check the cat if its blocked? i just was at the hess gas station and filled up. 112 local miles on 12.82 gallons works out to be 8.61 mpg would switching to a slp lid make a night and day difference as far as feeding air in?
