High beams quit working. HELP!
Last night i started my car up to let it warm up. After i started driving i clicked my high beams on and they stayed on for maybe 2 seconds and shut off. Now they won't turn on at all. The switch clicks when i pull it back and the high beam indicator shows its on the dash. What would cause this?
I asked the guys at advanced auto (not many places around here) and they said blown fuse but i didn't see any high beam fuse under the hood or the dash area where the other fuses are. He said it's possible that both blew out the same time. I find that hard to believe but then again what do i know? If i had a bad switch wouldn't it not click at all or something?
Any ideas or anyone had the same problem as me that fixed it before?

What year is your car? Are you 100% sure both hi beams where working? One high beam can make a lot of light. If you have been using only one high beam for the last few weeks and then the second one burned out it would make a lot more sence.
The test is simple remove the high beam connector and see if there is power there with the high beams on. If there is your head lights are bad.

Test light is the easiest way. Just hook it on the negative side of the battery and stick the point end into the connector.

You can use the conventional replacement headlight bulbs. Carefully pry the old one off the back of the glass housing (it's glued on), and silicone the new bulb in place. That's how I did it on my old 96. Ok, you can stand up now!!

Power to both high and low beams comes through a single circuit breaker built into the headlamp switch which then sends it to the hi-low beam selector switch. Turn on the high beam, If you find no power at the high beam wire at the head lamp connector, then the problem could be with the hi-low selector switch or the wiring from the selector switch to the head lamps, or a short circuit condition on the wire from the hi-low switch to the fog lamp relay.
