Default High beam switch not working

This switch has been gradually been failing on my car for a while now, but finally stopped working altogether. Everything else works on the switch at the moment, the CC stopped working once a couple weeks ago, but has been fine since. One noteworthy thing is since it's been wearing out the low beams usually stay on with the high beams, but not always.

Any direction on how to fix this would be great, because I have to drive at night a lot. Thanks!

Sounds like its either a bad switch or a loose screw where the switch connects to the steering column...I had the same prob and it was a loose screw. Works perfect now

Thanks, I figured it was something like that. What do I need to know before digging into it, or better yet, does anyone know of a write-up on this? I've never worked on a steering column before.

I figured this out, well sort of. I was able to find the switch figured out a few ways get it working, but not a permanent fix.

After removing the panel under the steering column I found there's a rod going back from the lever that attaches to the actual high beam switch. Basically the lever is not pushing the rod in far enough to trip the switch.

I figured out it will work if I push on this part while pulling the switch, and also if I pull the lever while holding the column tilt all the way down before it locks into the lowest setting. But I wasn't able to adjust or tighten anything to get it working right all the time.
