HID Conversion Kit from DDM Tuning
Hey Guys,
This is xxBladeFirexx. I lost my email address to my account and can't remember my password so I did it through FB. Anyway, I have a question about HID Kits.
I have a buddy who got HID conversion kits through DDM Tuning and their kits look real legit. I'm not worried about the kit, I am worried however about needing a relay or wiring harness.
He needed one with his hummer and it's an 07 but, I'm not sure.
If anyone has installed HID's on their Camaro's can you let me know if you needed a wiring harness or not?
I have a 96 Camaro any help would be great.. I saw some other topics about HID's but they were all old and no one ever asked about wiring harnesses.

I dint need a harness on mine. As long as your headlight fuses are what they suppose to be then you should be fine. For example dont put a 20amp fuse if your headlights use 15amps. The relay is really more for cars with a sound system that draws alot of current on startup and you dont want your headlights turning on at the same time as your system. So that way your car will have a chance to start first and supply a good voltage.
35w in the foglight housing max. 55w will generate way too much heat for such a small space.
I have HIDs on my 99 Camaro and did not need a harness. The relay is actually made for cars that run lower power to the lights than the kit actually needs. The lower power would cause the HIDs to pulse too slowly so it looked like you had strobe lights for headlights lol. It has nothing to do with a sound system lol. HIDs draw about the same as regular halogens at 35w. If your sound system draw so much that your 700 amp battery cannot start the car, you have a problem. Headlights turning on are not going to make the least bit of difference when starting your car lol.

evil: I have a system in my car.. I have 2 12's Powered by 2 600 watt amps bridged at 1200 watts and a 450 watt amp powering my door speakers. I have a kick *** alt tho, I have never had any flickering/dimming light issues.. Do you suggest that I get a wiring harness or should I be okay? I never turn my lights on right away anyway so the car shouldn't have an issue getting voltage through the car before I hit the lights?

Yea, I'm in the process of getting an SVR Auto Gel battery. Their more expensive then I'm willing to spend right now. I honestly don't need it at the minute and the fact that I'm going to have to rewire basically everything isn't adding to me wanting to get one just yet.
From what I'm getting from your posts.. I'm not having any power draw issues so I shouldn't need the wiring harness?
