Default Help: What part is this? Turn Signal Bracket / Housing ? thanks...had a tic / spasm..

Hi, I applied too much force to my turn signal on the left side of my 1993 Camaro v-6, 3.4 Liter from nerve problems

my freelance mechanic looked at the car yesterday 1/22/20,

Aside from not being able to push down the wire clip or that circlular piece of metal that looks like a wedding ring, which somehow causes the horn to either be on continuously or what new problem I have now--a car horn not working. This wire clip has to be pushed in with a lot of force and with a picker pushed in so that it falls into 1 of many many grooves holding it in place.

*Aside from the horn not working which any qualified GM or American hot rod repair shop mechanic would be able to either put back the ring buffer into place activating the car horn, the following is the Key problem--not having a functioning turn signal -- but I'm sure GM Chevrolet and Camaro in particular did not anticipate a little old lady from Pasadena driving its cars and after normal depreciation / wear and tear some muscle car enthusiast might like apply too much force and break the "turn signal bracket," or have a small road rage fit?

The bracket that is sort of what holds the turn signal broke in 2 pieces, it is very thin and probably can't be welded together

On a '93 Camaro V-6, 3.4 Liter, my freelance mechanic said it's too thin to be welded together and probably I'd need to find another car like a F body Pontiac Firebird or maybe a Chevy Monte Carlo 1990s series like the 1 shown in the instructional vid at a junkyard and take that out from there only because this part probably might be Discontinued by GM? or..maybe the entire arm needs to be purchased a well over a $100 purchase?

So the 2 parts: 1) turn signal lever 2) turn signal switch did not need replacing-- actually the turn signals once the steering column was opened can be manually turned both on left arrow and right arrow inside the cabin and outside of the car.

I'd think this is called a turn signal bracket, it's like a metal piece with a hole and a screw and a bolt at the other end that holds the turn signal lever in place.

***This is such an Important Part, that It would make No sense for this part to be Discontinued by GM....I'm sure I am not the only one who applied to much force on the turn signal lever on a 4th Gen. Camaro, like maybe during a nervous tic or during a near motor vehicle accident (or an epileptic seizure) and the absence of this part will cause the turn signal never to work and cause "Fix It / Equipment Violations," /traffic tickets, for sure. I will have to take it to a repair shop with someone who has worked on hot rods and American sports cars in 1 week and he will hopefully order it directly from the GM / Chevy dealer...or order the entire arm body if this piece isn't sold separately.

Please help, I'm starting to freak out....Does anyone know: know what this part is? or would I require its entire column / body of which this part belongs to?

In the pic, this part is found near the freelance mechanic's left index finger.

Here's a photo of the "broken turn signal bracket" anyone know what part this is? Part #____ GM Part # ___?? or dude you got to buy a whole new column not just that broken piece and the GM dealer charges $100?

*Thank you so much in advance for your help....

The freelance mechanic, who actually only Diagnosed my problem as not being a non-functioning "turn signal lever," NOR "a turn signal switch," but instead

a broken bracket holding the "turn signal lever" into place and allowing it to CLICK when pushed up or down...
. (get this: this freelance mechanic dude, I've been using for minor repairs, Disabled my air bag, a ring of twirly tape in my backseat, made my car horn CONSTANTLY BEEP AND WAS FORCED TO DISABLE THAT, TEMPORARILY HE SAID-- IN ESSENCE FREAKIN MAKING IT WORSE--NO CAR HORN, NO AIR BAG)....This freelance mechanic is too clumsy sadly, his shoes are untied, he talks to himself, on accident, I guess or by habit, "where did i put that such and such" and i'm over his shoulder freaking out with no steering wheel on while he's working on my car-- but i guess these are the freelqance mechanics in your neighborhood...in your neighborhood.... lol, right?

anywy this freelance mechanic ...

Called me 10 minutes ago and said yes, this is indeed the $25 part GM

Genuine GM 7827038 Turn Signal Switch Actuator Arm

I just wanted to confirm, if this is is the broken part that looks like a bracket with screw this is the part that makes the damn "turn signal lever" CLICK going up or down / left or right.
this is the part in its broken form: the arm or bracket

thanks soooooooooo much for any constructive advice PHOTO ATTACHMENT HERETO OF: pART OF BROKEN BRACKET / TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ACTUATOR ARM AND THE ACTUAL ITEM SOLD ON G.M. AUTO PARTS'S WEBSITE *-- IT'S ACTUALLY A PIC OF IT ON AMAZON . COM

So yes, there's a lot of posts here on Camaroforums dot com, on the "turn signal lever" and primarily or more frequently--the turn signal switch not working or failing

and also problems with the cruise control

but I just wanted to verify since my freelance mechanic is kind of burnt out he told me working 2 jobs at 75 hours a week, and he really can't be trusted as much as he used to or, to be more accurate his car repair judgment can't be relied on. I sent him videos that some of you were very kind in posting back to me, like member, Gorn, but because of his reading problem & Attention deficit disorder and dyslexia sadly, he doesn't have the patience to fully grasp those vids. I myself had a head inury, a t.bi

Question:
*Anyone know, For Sure, if this Actuator Arm or Rod GM part listed above is Indeed the part that when fastened to center of the steering column allows the turn signal lever and turn signal switch to be held in place and therefore allowing a "Click" which turns on the turn lights (left and right) ? I'm about 90 percent sure. But you can see just fragments of the bracket shown in 1 of my pics....not the entire GM actuator arm as advertised photo as if the bracket was shattered into fragments when I pushed down on it.

thanks in advance for your help, and even though I may not be the 1st person who pushed down hard on a turn signal ultimately breaking the thin GM part Actuator arm, this seems to be the very 1st post of its kind on this here forum, for a 4th Gen.

thanks again for trying to answer the above * star question

That "ring of twirly tape" that disabled your air bag, and is now sitting in your back seat, is called a clock spring. No doubt he destroyed it, since he sounds like a real hack.
