Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but I have a 67 rs and 95 lt1 supercharged z28. I recently blew the head gaskets on the 4th generation but had them redone from over heating. A month later I was cruising at 35 mph when I decided to feel the power behind it and floored it. After about 10 seconds the car shuts off and won't start at all. At first it would attempt to turn with no success. There's no obvious signs of any loose hoses or anything specific. Now I attempt to start it and as I turn the key it shuts off everything including the radio and all lights. Any suggestions of what it might be? Or any suggestions of a reliable mechanic in the San Fernando valley, CA? Any suggestions would help. Thanks

sounds like a bad connection to the battery. clean the battery terminals and cable ends. could be in the ignition switch or the breaker fuse could be tripping. i dont know what goes off with that. you need a volt meter or tester and do some searching.

It's a new battery and tried cleaning the cable ends and terminals. Original problem didn't seem to be electrical. Might be a new problem as I did mess around with the battery after trying to figure it out myself. Tried reconfiguring the boost and no success. Could it be something with the fuel? After it shut off on me the first time while driving on my next attempts to start it, the engine would start for a few seconds then shut off. After a few attempts at that it would just attempt to turn but nothing

Check your grounds and battery. If the radio and lights are dimming when you try to fire it up then you don't have enough voltage to turn the starter motor (most will click) or a bad ground/loose connection. It might also be a good idea to get your alternator tested and check your coil.

have you tried charging the battery up. as for the engine shutting off then running a short time, the ignition module will do that, opti will do it, no fuel will as well. charge battery, test for fuel pressure, test for spark, noid light test on the injector connectors to see if they are being told to fire. that should give you an idea of where to start.
