Camaro/Firebird are the same car. Different interior/exterior styling and some different options/packages is all. Drivetrain wise they were offered with the same things

No and no,,, But there is a Y87 package, Y87 had the Rear disk, posi rear and V8 sways, IMO the 96-97 RS-Y87 are one of the nicer V6. They can be tuff to find. Upgrading a V6 to a V8 suspension is not that costly. For a little more money you can get it better.

Well would all the rs v6 camaros in that year have that package. I am only looking to buy a 3.8l so im looking at those years. Is it worth it to find one with that package?

RS and Y87 are seperate options, If its stock V6 and has rear disk brakes it is a Y87. RS package you can spot a mile away.

The most apparent difference is that the Rs has a body kit. Not sure but I think most have leather interier too.
Just google 1997 RS camaro and go in pics. Here's an example.

Taken on the net, maybe belongs to someone here.

Just out of curiosity, I've owned my Z28 for about 8 months and I still haven't been able to find out whats stock and whats not. I know it's got a Cold air intake, and a magnaflow exhaust and some sort of direct port injection that seems to be aftermarket but like I said I have no clue. Is there any way of finding out other than taking it to a dealer or something? I want to start upgrading but just wanna know what's already been done.
