help with convertible!

Default help with convertible!

WELL IM NEW HERE. i got a Z28 for my bday and my Camaro convertible opens but needs to be man handle to cover it? how to fix this?! thanks.

so is the motor stoping or slowing like its getting tired?

well the convertible opens, but it is stuck when its opened. it kinda moves a bit when closing it back , but stops at a short distance and have to be man handle..

sure sounds like a weak motor. lol. im hoping one of the vert guys will come on and help you out. arrow for one has one and whammer does to. hopfully one of them will have a few words of wisdom for you. long as we keep bumping this up one is bound to look. lol.

Change you fluid. Suck out the old install new. If that does not do it it is most likely a weak pump. That is unless something is bent.

im new to the Camaro world and convertible..i dont even know the convertible has a motor and fluid for it... im an asian guy caught up in the mix then... hope some other vert owners look into this too...

ah but gorn is a vert owner and very good with the 4th gen info. im assuming the motor runs a hydrolic pump that raises and lowers the top. if the oil gets old it will not let the pump move it so good. sorta like brake or power steering fluid i think. i know on the crabber it helps alot to change the hydro oil every couple yrs.

so "gorn" is a user too right? how to find another user? well when the convertible opens it has no problem. just gettin it back to cover the top makes it stuck... i have no idea prob ill have to make a vid of it.

the reason it can open better than close is because it takes a lot more power to put the top up id say change the fluid if that doesnt help i know a good site for everything fbody convertable i just have to find it ill post beck with it later
