Default HELP! Can't keep car started

1994 3.4 Camaro

A few days ago I was in a parking lot going to move my car from the spaces to a gas pump when she died out on me. I got in, started it, went into reverse and got about halfway out of the space when it died. I was low but I didn't think I was THAT low. Well I threw a couple gallons in so I could drive it to the pump and fill her up but as soon as she started she died again. Did this a few times and she kept dying within a few seconds. I left it sit over night, came back and she fired right up. I cruised around the lot a few times to make sure everything was copasthetic and she drove fine. I got out on the main road and when I went to speed up she died again. Waited another day...same thing happened. Got about a quarter mile before she died. She will only start if she sits for a while. Seems like the longer she sits, the longer she runs.

I can hear the fuel pump priming, I don't see any leaks or anywhere furl could leak from, and I checked the fuel filter for clogs.

if you ran the car out of gas there is a good chance that the fuel pump got damaged. The fuel gauge in these cars is notorious for showing more fuel than is actually in the tank.

+1 on that

on our Z, 1/4 tank on the gauge is actually empty but the needle does go to E when the car is off

F is 3/4 and, pegged all the way past F is actually full

I know I'm super freaking late, but my 96 did the same at one point, I replaced IAC Valve, and the PCV Valve, and the Air Filter and she fired up and ran great no problems after I then continued to replace spark plugs and wires, everything seems to be great (:

The fuel guages in these f-bodys is terrible - the person who is responsible should be fired
