Default Help!

I have a 1994 Z28 6-speed. When I am in first gear from a stop, as I begin moving the stick shift shakes and and it seems like it's going to die or something, but once I get going the shaking stops, and I have this problem only in first gear from a stop. What's going on and what should I do?

Do you have an oil leak coming from between the trans and motor?

If your rear main seal is leaking causing your clutch to get oil soaked. This will cause the clutch to slip aginst the flywheel/pressure plate resulting in a shake when you first start off. I speak from exprience I had the same problem with my 3rd gen 5-spd. Replaced the rear seal installed a new clutch pack and all was good.

Well I just bought the car and I'm planning on getting new plugs and wires soon. The car had an oil change right before I bought it but as far as i know plugs haven't been replaced, but the weird thing is if it was running bad would the gas mileage be real bad? Actuallly getting really decent gas mileage right now... Does that have anything to do with it?
