Headlights work when tapped
So when i bought my camaro the left headlight worked only when you tap it and the other one didnt work at all.. so i replaced the one that didnt work at all and it worked perfectly fine (it came on when i turned the lights on and i didnt have to tap it) but now the other day i turned the light switch on and now the new light only comes on when tapped as well..this headlight/bulb was bought brand new no more than three weeks ago. Does anyone know this problem or had it? Thank You in advance

i assume this is a 93-97, could be the wiring at the plugin to the headlight, or bad ground, or the headlight itself. did you look over the plugin at the bulb when it was out? not unusuall to get into a bad batch of headlghts but three weeks is a bit short. i went through about 6 of em in a two year period before i got into better bulbs. i am using sylvania h4351s and eiko h4352s. seem to be lasting very well.

yes this a 94 camaro and i did check the connector at the bulb and it didnt seem bad or anything and this also was a sylvania h3451. Is there any way i can test for a bad ground with a voltmeter or such or test the wiring at the connector?

Its the bulb, Use to see this all the time, Maybe twice a month. The element inside the the buld is broken. When you slap it the it shake and causes it connect. The current flow makes it say lite until you shout it off, I guess it is possible it is something else but I have probably seen 50+ work orders over the years with head light works when smacked and I don't remember it ever being anything else. Even some of the service writers knew it and they just put replace bulb.
Now if you just working around the head lights or smacked into a tree that could effect the odds
