Headers
Just looking for a little information on headers:
1. What is the difference between long/mid/short lengths?
2. What type of coating is best?
3. Which are legal?
4. What exactly does a Y-pipe do?
5. Can an install be done at home?
Thanks.

2. Ceramic
3. Short and mid length usually are legal, while long tube headers aren't. Check with company before buying.
4.Y-pipe = the exit of the two headers combining into one pipe.
5. Yes.

RE: Headers
I just thought that I'd amend some of the things is 02StangGT's post...
1. You can make almost the same power(HP) out of a shorter header, but more torque comes from longer tubes.
3. If you live in Cali you can run a shortie, but in other states providing your Long Tube headers have all the hookups for the stock emissions equipment they are considered legal.
