Before I swaped engines ,my check valve was shot for about 2 years ,instead of making my starter work to hard ,I would turn the key 2 or 3 times would get the gas there ,no hard start ,start right up .but yes check valve goes in most of them at some point ,for any one have a problem with hard starts that could be the issue.an they can run for a long time like that
