i have the same exact problem, all u gotta do is COME TO A COMPLETE STOP very important, and then put it in 1st and then go into reverse, it slows the gears down so they dont grind, im not sure if it means the clutch is going bad, but thats all u gotta do and it wont grind or give you any problems

Mine does the same...I usually just go into 5th, then bring it back relatively hard into reverse until it snaps in. I had a chevy truck that did the same exact thing for 13 years, the clutch was fine.

how much would that be? if its too much, ive made it a habbit of just slowing the gears down before i go into reverse, only other problem i have with my trans is, sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes i cant get it into 2nd, like i go to shift and it wont let me in gear, and i have to come out of it into N then go back into 2nd,

You need to replace the reverse gear synchro.
You need to replace the reverse gear synchro.
The T56 (6 spd on V8s) tranny has a syncro'd reverse, but the T5 (v6 manual) does not. So if there is any movement in the gearbox while trying to shift into reverse, it will grind.
