I have a 1998 z28 and my car has no speed limiter, the speedo stops around 5500-5700 in 5th gear. I believe the top speed is supposed to be 162 mph for a stock LS1 around my year, that's power limited though.

LT1 should stay with most mustangs of its day. The exception would be the 32 Valve 4.6 in the mach1 and the cobra they tend to have a good edge on the LT1. However pre 99 GT's should be easy kills for the and even the better flowing 4.6 2 valves should be a good race. Not sure about 115 she should be able to push a little bit harder. For the LS1 she should be up in the 160 range.

This is such an old topic, but I have a 94 Camaro Z28 that had 2.73 gears in it. \\; I recently changed the gears to 3.73, and I have had my car to like 160MPH. \\; I was only at 4000RPM when I let off because I was getting off the interstate. \\; I figure (and will find out soon enough) that my car will redline at about 175MPH. \\; My car doesn't look the best........but haven't run anything that has had a chance.

2.73's means it had the Auto in it from the factory. \\; Stock with the "performance" gear ratio of 3.23 the car tops out, RPM limited, around 145 or so. \\; With a 3.73 gear your top speed is actually going to be decreased. \\; It sounds to me like you need to get your speedo adjusted for your new gears.
