yeah i used a wet rag last time and just wiped the dirt off the struts and other dirty looking parts. I even took my fire blanket off and hosed it down and let it air dry all day and night.

so illget the new pump so it stops leakin then do the opti and wires

 

The only problem with just a wet rag is it doesn't have the oil/grease cutting power that 409 or diluted dish soap has.

 

i didnt really do the engine i just did the strut towers and the bar infront of the engine, fire blanket and hood.

 

whats the difference between the LT1 Distributor and the Distributor cap and rotor?

 

The distributor is the whole Opti package, the cap and rotor is just what it sounds like, just the cap and rotor. If you had water leaking onto your opti you need to get a whole new unit because more than likely you fried some of the sensors and it's not just a bad cap and rotor.
