Well i dropped it off for an engine diagnosis and i have good news and bad news. The good news is it didnt cost 100 dollars it only cost 50. Now the bad news.. They scanned for codes and came up with an MAF code and Lean bank 2 code. But it doesnt end there, my engine has a Lower End Knock , Low Oil Pressure and Valve Train noise from Bank 2 and its misfiring. To top things off my cooling system is "very rusty" and they recommend a new engine and RAD.. Which would come to $10,000... So..i have to let my baby go...

nah... this was my sole means of transportation. since i bought it i only put 8,000 miles on it... I tried taking the bestcare of it i couldand im guessing thats the only reason its lasted (the engine..) this long... I met my girlfriend driving it around the 2nd day i got it, i got arrested for the first time for doing a donut in it.. I drove it to homecoming... i slept it in when my parents kicked me out of the house because i couldnt fix the lawn mower because i had made plans prior... I love this damn car... but 10grand is too much..

those d-bags will ALWAYS tell you that you need a new motor. take it to non-dealer and have him look at it

 

yeah... i dont feel like dragging it off all over spending more money just to find out its messed up.. id rather just start over... i can hear the knock i can feel the rattling, i know its misfiring and i knew about the Bank 2 running lean etc.

 

well if it isnt worth it to u then whatever. a buddy of mine just had a brand new fully forged and stroked shortblock build, installed, and tuned in his 03 mustang (newer=more expensive) and it was less than 10k. i really feel like we should sticky some anti-dealership propaganda on this forum, lord knows we have enough other propaganda as it is

well heres how i see it. Ive had my car on craigslist for 4500 and no one will buy it... so if i have to pay close to 4500 or more its not worth it because id be putting so much in and not getting that back. I bought the poor thing for 5000 because i didnt have someone look at it sooner and then spent 3000 on various repairs so i have 8000 into it already and while i love it more than anything in the world puting more money into it just isnt worth it... i dont want to spend 5-10k and have 13-18 grand in the car that i wont see more than 4000 back.

 

if you buy a new engine though, it will run like a top.

 

tops dont run they spin... and those goodwrench LT1s are like alil over 4 grand? that i dont have.
