Default GMMG Chambered Exhaust

Exhaust sub-forum doesn't get many views so I'm posting here.

Has anyone installed or ran one of these systems before? Trying to get some feedback on the system, not sure about pipes only being 2 1/2 inches I was hoping for a 3" system. What differences would a 2 1/2" compared to a 3" system bring?

How is the tone, does the system have faults, any rattling, things like that. Seems to be a good setup and from trying to find youtube videos with good sound quality or the actual GMMG site I'd like some responses and feedback form forum members with their experiences with the chambered exhaust from GMMG. Thanks.

Lots of people with GMMG on Ls1tech. The pipes are 2.5" because there are two of them, each running into its own chambered exhaust. They sound good on stock manifolds, but end up raspy and droning on longtubes and ory. Also note they are considerably heavier than your standard 3" catback, thanks to all that extra piping and another resonator.

My buddy has it with an SLP Y pipe, it sounds damn good! Course when I was running 3" true duals with sweet thunder resonators mine sounded better for half the price lol

Found a few more reviews on forums, only mention of the drone or raspy sound came from those running without cats. They still had LT's and ORY and kept the cat(s) in and they had no rasp or drone with the GMMG. When removing the CATS they said it enables the raspy sound and drone.

Also found quite a bit of talk, nothing recent though, about the stability of GMMG yet IDK of any recent comments or talk about the company. However, I have found a vendor ( vengeance racing ) who is now the provider of the GMMG exhaust which they receive via contract from the original manufacturer. The price is still a brow raiser yet from what I've been reading it will be well worth it.

Quoted from Vengeance. As of 2010

"Vengeance Racing does and IS authorized to sell the Chambered exhaust. We purchase this exhaust from the same manufacturer that has built this system for over 8 years now for GMMG. We do not require the consent of GMMG Inc as they have voided their contract with the manufacturer making their agreement null and void. For that matter, the manufacturer sells the exhaust direct as well if you would like to eliminate the middle man.

FWIW, we did not contact the manufacturer. WE were contacted asking if we were interested in selling the exhaust. After several requests, we agreed and have sold roughly 50 systems to date with another 25 coming in this month.

If anyone has any further questions or would like to be added to the current list of customers waiting on the next batch please do not hesitate to call.

"FWIW, while I have NO issues with Matt Murphy of GMMG Inc... I do not want to lead people on that Vengeance Racing has any sort of business relationship with GMMG. Vengeance Racing was created over four years ago and has continued to grow since then. While it is true that myself and Mike did work for GMMG for quite some time we have moved on and continue to grow Vengeance Racing.

yep, gmmg has been under them for a while now. they are a solid group of people so no worries there. to me, it aint worth the high cost. It weighs more and sounds just like any other chambered exhaust.
