Default GM 1825M Antifreeze Specification

Does Prestone Antifreeze meet the GM 1825M specification for my 1994 Z28?

gotta flush all the orange stuff out real good before using green stuff. they don't like mixing, turns into sludge.

GM spec 1825M is green coolant. They didn't start using Dex-cool until early '96.

OP, I would check under the radiator cap to see what color it is and if a PO may have mixed. Either way, if you don't have service history on it, now would be a good time to go to the local parts store and buy the cheapest coolant that says "concentrate" or "full strength" and flush the system out. Can be whatever brand you prefer, just look for one that has a green label. If it says Dex-cool anywhere on it, that is not it. Prestone in the YELLOW bottle with a black cap will work fine, regardless if you flush the system or not. The steel/gray looking bottle with an orange cap are Dex-cool compatible.

You can also buy it pre-mixed, but you're saving $2 to get half a bottle of water going that route. Clean drinking water will work fine or you can pick up a couple gallons of distilled water for less than a dollar.
